Hello and welcome to our guests tonight Leeds Carnegie.

Head Coach,Matt Newby, has been busy in the summer and put together a good mix of players and will most definitely be a hard team to beat this season. Ladi Brown has emerged as a player to watch and Albert Margai is someone I have known for many years and both will prove to be a handful for us today.

We learnt from our last game that Leeds are a very talented and organised unit who play hard from start to finish. Hence the 47 point drubbing last time we played. We cannot afford to let our heads down again and I know some members of the team took that loss badly.

We have significantly improved since our last meeting and today's game should be a much closer affair as we will aim to show Leeds what our team is capable of.

Hopefully, we should have a few additions to our squad which will give us the firepower that we need to establish ourselves as a contender for a trophy this season.

Brian McCotter, Tony Doyley are recovering from injuries and should be making bigger contributions along with Lee Mcloughlin who has a shoulder strain.

Our performance against Manchester showed that we can get shots off our offence and our work ethic on defence was excellent at times. Considering that we were very short handed this weekend I was happy with the effort we showed. Manchester gave us a shooting clinic in the second half and when they did miss we still struggled on the boards due to the Magic's superior height. Our running game is developing nicely and our ball movement is getting better in each game. Tony Doyley is now starting to find his feet in the league and I was very happy with the way the players still stuck to our game plan even though we were being punished as in previous games we would have put our heads down. We will be a very different team when the league start in earnest 31st October when we play Reading away and I have no doubt that we will very competitive by then
